Dr. Andreas Lechner is an Austrian architect and associate professor whose research explores typology as a mode of architectural knowledge situated between form, use, ecology, and transformation. His work foregrounds adaptive reuse, spatial affordances, and the critical re-reading of existing structures as central architectural concerns. This position is articulated in the award-winning Thinking Design – Blueprint for an Architecture of Typology (Park Books, Zurich, 2021), and its relevance is tested through ongoing research and design projects on transformation and reuse. He lectures widely at international institutions and serves as co-editor of GAM – Graz Architecture Magazine and an upcoming special issue of The Journal of Architecture (RIBA / Taylor & Francis).
